Cartridge Deposit System: Returns and Deposit Rules

How to return your cartridges – and when you get your deposit back in full, partially, or not at all.

We charge a deposit on all Korallenwächter cartridges – because sustainability matters to us. Our cartridges are built to last: we take them back, refill them, and send them out again. We transfer the deposit as soon as the cartridge has arrived with us.

How the return process works

First, register your cartridge on our website: Register cartridge return

Enter your name, email address, and the QR code printed on the cartridge – either by scanning or entering it manually. Then ship the cartridge to:

Aquaperfekt | Voltastraße 2 | 50129 Bergheim, Germany

Registering before shipping is essential – without it we can't match the cartridge to your account and can't process the refund. We collect all returned cartridges from Aquaperfekt once a week.

Packaging and shipping

To make sure your cartridge arrives safely and no deductions apply, please follow these steps:

1. Insert the transport plugs Before packing, insert the transport plugs into all openings. Without them, residual liquid can leak during transit and damage the cartridge.

2. Use the original product packaging Return the cartridge in its original packaging – it's designed specifically for transport. Easiest approach: put the used cartridge straight into the packaging of the new one you just inserted.

3. Additional shipping box required The product packaging alone is not sufficient. Place it inside a sturdy cardboard box with padding material – newspaper works fine.

Warning

Always ship to Aquaperfekt – not to our company address. Our office is in a shared building where delivery issues occur more frequently.

Deposit refund: the three cases

Case 1: Full refund

If your cartridge comes back undamaged, you receive the full deposit.

Some damage can't always be avoided even with careful handling. These cases are not deposit-relevant:

Bent connector ports on the back of the cartridge do not result in a deduction. For severe deformations, we recommend draining any remaining liquid before packing – hold the cartridge over a drain and carefully turn it upside down.

Damage at known weak points is also not deposit-relevant. The yellow-marked areas in the image are prone to stress due to manufacturing tolerances. Cracks or chips up to 0.5 cm in these areas do not result in any deduction.

Case 2: Partial deduction (–€2)

If the transport plugs or product packaging are missing, we retain €2 of the deposit. Both are needed to protect the cartridge in transit. If you're missing either, just contact us before shipping – we'll find a solution.

Case 3: Full retention (negligent damage)

In cases of negligent damage, we retain the full deposit. Large chips or cracks in the housing make refilling impossible – the cartridge is beyond repair.

Exception: This rule does not apply to the transitionally used 3D-printed cartridges.
